This chapter covers all procedures related to duty-free vehicle importation and exportation, tax-exempt purchase and sale, ownership transfer, license plate applications (permanent and temporary) and tax-free fuel acquisition, as well as requirements for obtaining a R.O.C.  (Taiwan) driver’s license.

Diplomatic Missions or Foreign Offices (DMFOs) and their staff members may import or purchase duty-free vehicles for official or personal use in accordance with rules set forth in Guidelines on Tax-exempt Imported Vehicles for Diplomatic Missions and Their Staff Members and the principle of reciprocity.
