Under Taiwan law, no individual—whether private or official—may possess or import firearms and other weapons, unless expressly authorized by the competent authorities.
For the purposes of these regulations, the following definitions shall apply, including but not limited to the following terms:
1. Firearms: Including shotguns, airguns, spearguns, harpoon guns, gas guns, and similar devices.
2. Ammunition: Including bullets, explosives, and related materials.
3. Weapons (e.g., knives and prohibited items): Including sharpened samurai swords, brass knuckles, machete and other controlled weapons.
