3-9 Application for R.O.C. (Taiwan) Driver's License


Diplomatic Missions or Foreign Offices (DMFOs) and their eligible staff members applying for R.O.C. (Taiwan) driver’s license should submit a note verbal or official letter at least two (2) weeks in advance enclosed with the following: 

1. Information specifying the motorcycle license class, applicable for motorcycle license application;

2. A completed Driver’s License Application Form: 

(1) The form should be printed double-sided (front and back). 

(2) The form should contain the applicant’s full name, UI No., date of birth, gender, and current contact information.

3. Two (2) recent 1-inch (2.6 cm×2.8 cm) photos:

(1) The photo should be taken against a white background and feature a clear front view without a hat.

(2) AI-generated or otherwise synthetically altered images will not be accepted.

4. A copy the applicant’s MOFA ID Card: 

(1) Including both the front and back of the document;

(2) If the applicant is a relative of a DMFO staff member, a copy of the staff member’s MOFA ID Card should also be provided.

5. A copy of the applicant’s valid passport, with a remaining validity of at least six (6) months;

6. A copy of the applicant’s driver's license from the country of origin:  

(1) If the validity period is unspecified or indicated by a dash (–), additional supporting documents are required.

(2) Chinese or English translation is required for non-English licenses. Additionally, supporting documentation must be provided if the license lacks text descriptions or uses icons only.
