5-1 Applying for Taoyuan International Airport Pass


The Taoyuan International Airport Pass (hereafter referred to as Airport Pass) is a permit issued to Diplomatic Missions and Foreign Offices (DMFOs) and its eligible staff members in accordance with the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Pass Management Regulations. The Airport Pass grants access to restricted airport areas for official duties, based on the principle of reciprocity.

 

I. Required Documents

The applying DMFOs should submit a note verbale or official letter enclosing the following documents: 

1. A full color copy of the applicant’s MOFA ID card;  

2. A full color copy of the applicant’s valid passport.

 

II. Issuance of Airport Pass

Once the documents are approved, the applicant should contact the Taoyuan International Airport Corporation to schedule an appointment to have their Airport Pass ID photo taken no later than one (1) month after approval. The Airport Pass will then be issued on site by the aforementioned office on the same day. 

 

III. Loss of Airport Pass

In the event of a lost Airport Pass, please contact the Department of Protocol.


IV. Return of Airport Pass upon Departure

When an Airport Pass holder leaves the post, the DMFOs must return the Airport Pass to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) within 14 days of their departure. The Airport Pass may be returned together with the MOFA ID and BTE Cards in accordance with the procedure outlined in the “1-5 MOFA ID/BTE Card Return upon Departure” section.
