4-3 Work Permits for Family Member of DMFO Staff Member


Eligible family members of Diplomatic Missions and Foreign Offices (DMFOs) may be permitted to take up employment in Taiwan, subject to the principle of reciprocity and the “Guidelines for Employment Applications in Taiwan by Family Members of Personnel of Diplomatic Missions and Foreign Offices.”

 

To apply for work permits, a note verbale or official letter shall be submitted enclosed with the following documents: 

1. A completed Work Permit Application Form;

2. A 2-inch photograph on a white background;

3. A copy of each of the DMFO staff member’s and the family member's MOFA ID card;

4. A copy of family member’s valid passport and visa;

5.The family member’s BTE Card, if applicable, which loses validity when the family member takes up employment.

6. A copy of the employment contract or certificate/letter of employment.

7. A copy of the Income Tax Payment Certificate (required for renewal of employment). The certificate must show that taxes have been paid up to date before the start of renewed employment.
