Explosions in Jerusalem, Israel, today have left at least one person dead and numerous Israeli citizens injured. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) strongly condemns these deadly terrorist attacks.
On behalf of Foreign Minister Jaushieh Joseph Wu, Ambassador Anthony Chung-yi Ho, Director General of the Department of West Asian and African Affairs, conveyed the condolences and sincere concern of the government of Taiwan to Omer Caspi, Representative of the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei. MOFA has also instructed the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Tel Aviv to keep abreast of the situation. Currently, no reports of casualties among Taiwanese expatriates and nationals have been received, and TECO staff and their family members are all safe. TECO will continue to monitor developments and provide timely reports.
MOFA reminds Taiwanese nationals who plan to travel to Israel or are currently in the country for business or tourism to remain vigilant and be aware of their personal safety.
