Delegation from the Hungary-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Association to visit Taiwan

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), a delegation from the Hungary-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Association, led by Chairman Árpád János Potápi, is scheduled to visit Taiwan from July 28 to August 2, 2014.

The delegation members will call on President of the Legislative Yuan Wang Jin-pyng, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Vanessa Y. P. Shih, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Tong I-min, President of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee Lin Hong-dow, and President of Soochow University Pan Wei-ta. They will also call at the Council of Agriculture, the Sports Administration, the Ministry of Education, and the Straits Exchange Foundation. President of the Legislative Yuan Wang Jin-pyng will host a dinner in their honor, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Vanessa Y.P. Shih a luncheon. In addition, the members will visit Kinmen, the National Palace Museum, Ju Ming Museum, Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf, and Raohe Street Night Market.

The delegation hopes to gain a better understanding of the latest political and economic developments in Taiwan, to discuss possible ways of furthering bilateral economic, agricultural, sports, cultural, and educational cooperation, as well as to deepen the partnership between Hungary and Taiwan, and enhance parliamentary exchanges.
