After the Republic of Singapore smoothly concluded its parliamentary elections on September 11 and swore in its new cabinet members on October 1, the Republic of China government promptly congratulated Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his cabinet members.
Over the years, Taiwan and Singapore have enjoyed close ties, as both countries not only promote peace in the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world, but also uphold the universal values of freedom and rule of law. On the economic front, the two sides signed an economic partnership agreement to strengthen economic and trade relations, achieving results that receive wide acclaim.
In the future, the ROC government will continue to cooperate closely with the Singapore government on deepening bilateral relations to the benefit of the peoples of both countries. (E)
