Hon. Guido Galperti of Italy leads parliamentary delegation to Taiwan

Hon. Guido Galperti, Vice President of the Italy-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Group, is leading a three-member parliamentary delegation to visit Taiwan from January 6 to 9, 2015, at the invitation of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The other two delegation members are Marco Di Maio and Marco Donati.

The delegation will have an audience with ROC Vice President Wu Den-yih. The members will also call on National Palace Museum Director Fung Ming-Chu; Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Cho Shih-Chao; Administrative Deputy Minister of Finance Sheu Yu-Jer; Legislator Yang Li-Huan, who is also President of the Taiwan-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group; Straits Exchange Foundation Deputy Chair Maa Shaw-Chang; Taiwan External Trade Development Council Executive Vice President Walter M. S. Yeh; and Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office Representative Donato Scioscioli. In addition, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Vanessa Yea-Ping Shih will host a luncheon in their honor.

This trip aims to provide the delegation members with a better understanding of recent developments in Taiwan’s politics, economy, and cross-strait relations, while enhancing economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries. (E)
