The Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship is one of the most important international sporting events held in the Republic of China (Taiwan) this year. To welcome the world-class golfers participating in this tournament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) held a reception at the Taipei Guest House on the evening of October 28, which was hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs David Y. L. Lin and Madame Lin. Numerous distinguished guests attended the reception and delivered remarks, including Vice President Wu Den-yih, former Vice President Vincent Siew, and Senior Advisor to the President Jason Yuan. Top-10 ranked players such as Stacy Lewis, Inbee Park, Lydia Ko, and Suzann Pettersen, as well as Taiwan players Yani Tseng, Phoebe Yao, and Candie Kung, were also at the event. They were joined by members of the diplomatic corps, other foreign representatives, ROC government officials, and leaders from different sectors of society, bringing the total number of guests for this unprecedented gathering to approximately 500.

A wide selection of Taiwan delicacies was served, including Hakka, indigenous, and other traditional dishes from around the nation. Guests were also treated to bubble tea, as well as snacks prepared at the venue by chefs from the renowned DinTaiFung Dumpling House.

In addition, MOFA also invited artists to showcase dough figurines and silhouette artworks. Their creativity and craftsmanship deeply impressed guests and gave them a better understanding of Taiwan’s traditional folk culture.

The evening was further enlivened by Liu Shiuan, a well-known musician and author, who combined classical and modern music, as well as visual imagery, to create a unique experience for the audience. The medley of Mandarin and English songs presented by the Taipei Philharmonic Chorus and a performance by the M-star Band further added to the evening’s atmosphere. The rich diversity of artistic styles held the audience captivated until the event concluded at 8 PM. (E)
