The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) condemns the abduction of hundreds of schoolgirls in Nigeria’s Chibok and Warabe areas by an extremist group that has threatened to sell them as slaves. The ROC government calls on the international community to work together with the Nigerian government to press for the immediate release of the abducted women and children.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Taiwan’s civic organizations to show concern for such serious violations of human rights and seek assistance on behalf of the imperiled Nigerian women and children from the international community through appropriate channels.(E)
