Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Jaushieh Joseph Wu hosted a banquet on the evening of October 17 to welcome American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Chair Laura Rosenberger to Taiwan, thanking Chair Rosenberger for her long-standing and staunch support and close friendship with Taiwan.

Minister Wu said that Taiwan-US ties were currently stronger than they had ever been. Noting that the two sides would gradually advance all-round interaction and exchanges, Minister Wu said he looked forward to building on the solid foundation of Taiwan-US relations to work with like-minded nations and jointly contribute to the international community.

Chair Rosenberger reiterated that the United States paid high regard to its rock-solid commitment to Taiwan as a matter of principle and noted that Taiwan enjoyed significant bipartisan support. She said that Taiwan was crucial to global economic development, a beacon of democracy in the Indo-Pacific region, and a force for good in the world, adding that the United States would continue to work with Taiwan to promote and strengthen their partnership in a range of areas.
