The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) extends its sincere congratulations to the Slovak Republic on the successful completion of parliamentary elections on September 30 and looks forward to working closely with the new government.

Taiwan and the Slovak Republic share such universal values as freedom, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law and enjoy a close partnership. In the past three years, the two countries have engaged in frequent collaboration in such areas as economics and trade, tourism, culture, innovation, science and technology, medicine and health care, higher education, technological research, science parks, electric vehicles, space development, smart cities, and the digitalization of SMEs, signing more than 20 cooperative agreements. Bilateral relations continue to develop steadily.

The Slovak Republic has also extended staunch support for Taiwan’s participation in international organizations. Last year, the National Council of the Slovak Republic passed five resolutions to this effect, among other things.

MOFA looks forward to building upon this strong foundation and continuing to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the Slovak government and jointly promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity. (E)
