The Republic of China government expresses congratulations to the Philippines on completing its most recent round of democratic elections for president, vice president, legislators, governors, and officials at other levels of government on May 9, 2016.
The ROC and the Philippines maintain close relations in the areas of economy, trade, law enforcement, labor affairs, tourism, education, and culture, and also share the values of democracy, freedom, and rule of law. The ROC will continue to strengthen cooperation with the new Philippine government so as to further enhance the cordial and substantive relations between the countries. (E)
