No. 115

Mr. Dumisani Ndlangamandla, Minister of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) of the Kingdom of Swaziland, along with Mrs. Ndlangamandla and two colleagues, will visit the Republic of China from June 14 to 18, 2015.

Minister Ndlangamandla will call at the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Communications Commission, and Industrial Technology Research Institute. The delegation will also visit the Central Taiwan Science Park, Institute for Information Industry, Dafeng Elementary School, Toushe Elementary School, Chunghwa Telecom, Taipei 101, Syntrend Creative Park, and Sun Moon Lake. ROC Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Simon S. Y. Ko will host a luncheon in the delegations honor.

Minister Ndlangamandla, who was elected as a member of parliament and appointed Minister of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) in 2013, works closely with the ROC Embassy in Swaziland. This trip will provide him the opportunity to gain a better understanding of Taiwans ICT industry, including ICT applications in elementary schools, as a reference for future policy-making.

Swaziland and the ROC have enjoyed close and cordial relations for 47 years, with bilateral cooperation in such areas as agriculture, health, and capacity building producing substantial results. In the international arena, Swaziland has fully supported Taiwan’s bids to gain meaningful participation in organizations affiliated with the United Nations, such as the World Health Organization, International Civil Aviation Organization, and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
