The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) notes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom issued a press release on July 5 on the signing of the 2030 strategic partnership joint declaration on foreign policy, security, and defense. In the declaration, the two countries reaffirmed the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. They also recognized the inextricable link between Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific security, as well as the systemic challenge of China and its increasing international assertiveness. MOFA highly welcomes and appreciates that international democratic partners have once again expressed support for security across the Taiwan Strait.

The United Kingdom and Poland stated in the declaration that they will cooperate with the United States, European partners, North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies, and regional actors in the Indo-Pacific to uphold global norms and principles. They also committed to enhance information sharing with international partners to increase resilience in the face of economic coercions and in countering disinformation and academic interference.

MOFA reiterates that Taiwan stands on the strategic front line in defense of freedom and democracy and is willing to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with the United Kingdom, Poland, and other like-minded partners in such areas as the economy, information, academia, and disinformation countermeasures. Taiwan will continue to contribute to strengthening democratic resilience and solidarity; safeguarding the rules-based international order; and promoting peace, stability, and prosperity across the Taiwan Strait and in the Indo-Pacific.
