No. 341
On November 15, Russia perpetrated missile attacks on major Ukrainian cities and energy facilities. In addition, a city in eastern Poland also suffered a missile strike. These military actions have resulted in countless civilian casualties. The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) expresses deep concern and regret at the above developments. Taiwan again condemns any violation of the UN Charter that undermines peace through the military invasion of another country, calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities, and urges the swift resumption of peaceful dialogue.
As a member of the international democratic community, Taiwan resolutely defends the universal core values of democracy, freedom, the rule of law, and human rights. Taiwan reiterates its respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity and opposes the use of force or coercion to unilaterally change the status quo. Parties should reconcile their differences through peaceful and rational dialogue and consultations, under the framework of international law. Taiwan will continue to closely coordinate with the United States, European nations, and other like-minded countries to take appropriate measures to assist Ukraine in bringing an early end to the war and restoring regional and global peace and stability.
