The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its appreciation to the US Department of State’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs for promoting A Perfect Pair, a short film that tells a medical story from Taiwan, on its Twitter feed.

The film, which accurately reflects Taiwan’s medical prowess and conviction that compassion transcends borders, has resonated with audiences everywhere. Since first appearing online less than 10 days ago, it has already received close to two million hits, with 85 percent coming from abroad. MOFA is grateful for the positive reaction among both local and foreign audiences.

Taiwan has long made contributions to humanitarian medical aid and tackling serious disease, and is more than willing to share its experience in introducing universal health coverage and enabling people to enjoy affordable yet high quality healthcare. The R.O.C. government also sincerely thanks Taiwan’s diplomatic allies and other like-minded countries for firmly supporting Taiwan’s international participation over many years, and will continue to work with other countries to ensure there are no gaps in international healthcare cooperation.

MOFA will also continue to work tirelessly with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, as well as non-governmental organizations, on Taiwan’s WHA participation. (E)
