Concerning an Estonian media report that Taiwan will set up a representative office in Estonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is still engaged in discussions with Estonia on this matter. Both sides affirm that setting up a representative office would be highly significant for enhancing bilateral exchanges, but they have yet to reach a consensus. MOFA maintains an open mind on this matter and appreciates that the government of Estonia is continuing discussions with Taiwan.

The report also mentioned that Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaushieh Joseph Wu would visit Estonia. MOFA will provide more information on this matter at an appropriate time.

Taiwan and Estonia are like-minded partners that share the values of freedom and democracy. Estonian Health Minister Riina Sikkut spoke up in support of Taiwan at the World Health Assembly in May. Bilateral ties are progressing steadily. MOFA will continue to strengthen exchanges and interactions with Estonia and other like-minded nations.
