Your Excellency Hilda Heine, President of the Marshall Islands, and First Gentleman Mr. Thomas Kijiner Jr.;

Traditional leaders;

Honorable Ministers and Senators;

Members of the diplomatic corps;

Esteemed members of the business community;

Distinguished guests;

Ladies and gentlemen:

Iakwe aolep!

On behalf of the people and government of Taiwan, it is my pleasure to host this banquet in honor of President Heine, First Gentleman Kijiner, and all our Marshallese friends.

Since forging diplomatic ties, Taiwan and the Marshall Islands have achieved remarkable progress in a variety of fields, including agriculture, health, education, climate change, and women’s empowerment. Over the years, our countries have stood together like family, working hand in hand to create a brighter future for all.

During today’s meeting under our economic cooperation agreement, we engaged in a comprehensive and fruitful discussion on a range of technical issues. The ECA will provide a platform to expand mutually beneficial opportunities.

Through these joint efforts, Taiwan and the Marshall Islands are laying the building blocks for economic resilience and prosperity.

This visit has facilitated exchanges between the Taiwanese and Marshallese business communities. These connections will help us promote a shared, sustainable, and more prosperous future.

In closing, I would like to propose a toast: to the further enhancement of bilateral relations and to the prosperity of the people of both our countries. Jeramon!
